​Artist Cecily Auvil Harness brings the light touch of a watercolor expressionist to her dazzling creations in oil.  Her paintings – portraits, landscapes, moments out of time – are wordless love songs, rhapsodies of color and form, light and motion.  Distillations of reality filtered through the insights and deep feelings of a genuine romantic.

Cecily grew up in Baltimore and in the Cleveland area, then earned her BA at the highly regarded University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.  Trained as an Interior Designer, her passion for painting took hold during studies in Vienna.  Subsequent travels throughout Europe and the American Southwest, along with her four years with prominent design firm Jack Rouse Associates, helped to further shape Cecily’s development as an artist.

 

Following a series of successful gallery showings in the early 2000s, Cecily stepped away from painting and designing full-time to raise a family and see more of the world.  Now she has returned to her canvases, bringing a seasoned perspective, renewed zeal, and a deep determination to create treasured heirlooms for every client.
